PROFORMANCE PROS
F-106 Billet Pinion Support. Designed with an oversized inner pinion bearing, this aftermarket Billet Pinion Support is an excellent replacement for your stock pinion support. Its heavy-duty configuration is sure to endure extreme loads and will greatly reduce the chances of pushing the pinion through the front of your differential.
The kit includes:
To achieve your correct pinion bearing preload, the pinion bearing preload spacer will need to be trimmed. The correct pinion bearing preload is 20 INCH POUNDS!(18-22 in. lbs. is acceptable) The easiest way to achieve this is to put your billet pinion support in a vise.
The pinion bearings should be lubricated prior to assembly. They MUST BE lubricated with a light oil before setting the preload. The pinion bearing preload CAN BE set while the pinion support is still in the vise and must be set prior to setting the pinion depth.
The pinion depth will be set by using the pinion depth shims when installing the pinion support into the housing.
